Tesla is looking for an experienced, dedicated and well organized Construction Safety Specialist to join our Facilities Construction team at our 5
million square foot factory in Fremont, CA. This role will manage safety and risk associated with several construction projects and ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations.
The Construction Safety Specialist will collaborate with Tesla's construction management personnel and provide construction safety support to ensure that construction contractors follow their respective construction safety program and Tesla's construction safety program. This position will require someone who is adaptable and flexible in a changing environment and who is committed to working with our construction staff in creating and maintaining an injury free workplace.
Responsibilities
Acclimate and support construction contractors and subcontractors into the Tesla zero accident safety culture.
Participate and assist in developing pre job site safety planning and follow up on execution.
Request and review contractor pre-task plans and JSA's. Provide feedback as necessary.
Frequently communicate with key project shareholders and participate in weekly job safety meetings with construction site personnel and with Tesla project management team.
Perform regular audits on all construction sites, construction trailers and provide constructive corrective action.
Perform and oversee investigation of job site accidents. Possess strong problem solving skills to determine accident/incident root cause and follow up on corrective measures.
Communicate with contractors with injured worker(s) and share return to work strategy.
Prepare and share monthly Power Point presentation(s) to construction personnel and management which outlines construction safety status, concerns and notable trends.
Partner with respective job site superintendent to develop a project sit logistics plan.
Track contractor site labor hours and report on construction site EMR rate.
Develop and propose construction worker recognition program and/or events for management review.
Maintain job site contractor communication boards are accurate and up to date.
Maintain inventory of PPE and safety materials.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Safety, Engineering or Construction Management and/or a minimum 5 years related construction safety experience.
Expert knowledge of CAL-OSHA regulations for the construction industry.
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite products and email communication.
Current CAL-OSHA 500 certification, current First Aid and CPR Certification, or willingness to be certified.
Working knowledge of ANSI, NFPA and Workers Compensation regulations
Clean valid California driver's license with the ability to drive to and support satellite Fremont manufacturing sites.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
