Quality Engineer Staff

The quality engineer is responsible for overall product quality including incoming inspection processes, supplier qualification and audits, tool inspection processes, the maintenance of required calibration tools and first article inspections.
Responsibilities:
Assuring the compliance of our products to their specifications
Improving supplier quality
Performing supplier quality audits
Ensuring modules and systems meet quality requirements
Driving continuous quality improvement in a manufacturing environment
The quality engineer's duties will include:
Perform incoming inspection as required using tools such as CMM, caliper, gauges, torque wrench, digital multi meter, micrometer and surface roughness gauge.
Resolve quality issues by identifying problems, evaluating solutions, implementing action plans and providing resolution.
Monitor and track problems discovered during product manufacturing and testing and provide pro-active quality solutions.
Generate and maintain quality metrics related to incoming material and product manufacturing
Apply problem solving techniques for effective root cause analysis and corrective and preventative actions.
Develop and implement quality procedures for existing and new products in compliance with quality management systems.
Build quality in operations processes, material flow, manufacturing and testing.
Plan, prioritize and execute tasks to meet timeline requirements
Perform/coordinate failure analysis of components and assemblies
Conduct final inspection of systems prior to shipping
Perform other job related duties as assigned
Skills required:
Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering or related technical field

years experience with quality assurance
Self-starter, motivate and well organized
Able to work with suppliers
Technical knowledge of sampling processes
Experienced with the ISO 9001 quality standard
Good communication skills, written and verbal
SAP QM module knowledge
Computer skills include MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Environmental, Health & Safety Requirements:
Successful completion of required Safety training.
Ensure equipment and machines are maintained in safe operating condition.
Report to the Safety Officer any unsafe or unhealthy condition which cannot be corrected.
Follow all safety and health regulations and work practices, including personal protective equipment where applicable.
