Sr. Director, Finance - Manufacturing Operations
Position: Sr. Director, Operational Accounting
Reports to: Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer
Location: Fremont, CA
The Opportunity:
The Sr. Director, Operational Accounting is responsible for providing financial leadership to the Manufacturing and Spares Logistics organizations through a partnership focused on operational excellence. This position is responsible for driving financial processes, policies and procedures across all manufacturing and distribution entities to optimize the Company's operational efficiency and cost effectiveness. This position has two direct reports, two dotted line reports at international locations, and reports directly to the Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer.
Responsibilities:
Worldwide Inventory and Cost Accounting
Partner with Sales, Service and Manufacturing to develop and maintain inventory forecasts and optimize working capital
Understand all inventory flows between suppliers, depots, consignment locations and manufacturing plants
Analyze and validate all inventory transactions in SAP
Lead and complete monthly accounting close process
Ensure accuracy of actual results and prepare analysis / reports in order to communicate to management
Lead standard setting process for both Fremont, CA and Dornstadt, Germany manufacturing locations
Finance Operations
Develop and manage all aspects of monthly, quarterly and annual expense forecasts in conjunction with business partners
Establish and maintain metrics to drive operational excellence
Conduct analysis and develop insights that improve the quality of decision making
Proactively drive financial performance for compliance with the company's quarterly and strategic objectives
Provide financial guidance and support for new initiatives (pricing changes, coverage models, etc.)
Systems / Data Structure / Process Improvement
Demonstrated expert on SAP
Work closely with operations and IT on system enhancements post SAP Hana go-live (February 2017)
Own G/L data structure and ensure appropriate level of detail and integrity in account, department, region, legal entity coding
Establish best practices in the areas of support, manufacturing and inventory control
Requirements:
A minimum of 12 years of strong accounting experience
Experience with semiconductor capital equipment manufacturing and manufacturing/spares inventory management
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Certified Public Accountant or MBA preferred
Ability to work as a member of a team as well as work independently
Excellent analytical and business support skills
Advanced Excel and modeling capabilities
SAP experience preferred
Solid understanding of manufacturing operations, inventory and cost accounting
Confident, self motivated and energetic individual with the highest degree of ethics
Excellent organizational and project management skills; able to prioritize appropriately and meet deadlines
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work effectively with personnel throughout the company as well as external vendors and professional services firms
