Quality Assurance Manager
Location: Fremont, CA
As Quality Assurance Manager, you will be responsible for a team of QA professionals that develop and implement test plans, manage automated build, release and configuration systems, and determine readiness for all releases for real-time sports systems, and web-based applications. There will be a wide variety of projects for multiple sports, including hardware, software and field testing for broadcast systems, tracking technologies, as well as responsibility for operations testing, release control, test plan development, and configuration management.
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for interfacing with all Operations, Business Development, Creative, and Engineering groups at Sportvision. This position reports to the Senior Director of Engineering.
ESSENTIAL
Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 years' experience in Quality Assurance, application build, release and configuration management and testing methodologies as well as other related disciplines
A minimum of 3 years' experience in direct management of multi-disciplined teams
The successful candidate is an experienced but hands-on manager who has experience in building high performance organizations.
Oversee the development and execution of test plans and monitoring and reporting on test execution to support Production releases.
Ability to appropriately assert, monitor and measure software Quality Assurance disciplines and metrics within Agile software development processes
Broad knowledge of typical, full software development life cycle and industry best practices (e.g. Versioning practices, evaluating milestones, scheduling, etc.)
Responsible for development of automated test strategies and creation of appropriate test systems to support production release effort
Experience with Windows and Linux platforms
Ability to work under pressure, learn quickly and complete deadlines on-time
Experience with Defect Tracking and Management Tools (Jira, Bugzilla, Trax, etc.)
Knowledge of Source Control Systems, best practices and their applications (Git, SourceSafe, SVN, etc.)
Excellent verbal and written skills with special emphasis on interpersonal communication and problem-solving
Demonstrated leadership and negotiation capabilities
Vigilant attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to accommodate weekend work and travel
BS in Computer Science, Mathematics or Engineering or equivalent experience
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS BUT NOT REQUIRED:
Experience with consumer-facing web or mobile applications
Experience with Python, Java, C, C++, C# or other languages
Experience working in a demanding environment of a live television production
Knowledge of TV broadcasting equipment
Interest in and knowledge of sports
