As a Commercial Field Service Specialist, you will report and provide diagnostic, troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance services to Tesla's energy products including but not limited to:
oBatteries such as Powerpacks and Megapacks oCommercial Solar PV Systems oEV (Electric Vehicle) Charging SystemsResponsibilities The Energy Technical Programs team is responsible for the ongoing success of Tesla's class-leading fleet of energy products.
As part of our team, you will be empowered to work across the entire Tesla organization to solve problems and ensure the success of our Commercial Energy field service execution.
Working cross-functionally with Field Service Technician and Electrician counterparts, Field Managers, Asset Managers, Environment and Operations personnel, Health and Safety, and Field Service Leadership teams, you will leverage your hands-on knowledge and experience to ensure a positive customer experience and exceptional performance of Tesla's Commercial products.
Your role will primarily focus on ensuring all Commercial and Utility Megapack & Powerpack inspections completed by field teams are carried out per company standards by reviewing forms remotely.
Duties/Responsibilities o Review incoming BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) PM (Preventative Maintenance) data to find discrepancies and deviations from company standards and follow up on action items.
o Create or verify the creation of activities for discrepancies discovered during PMs.
o Perform or support field technicians during preventive maintenance activities on commercial inverters to maintain warranty coverage o Respond to corrective maintenance cases on commercial solar PV, commercial energy storage systems, vehicle charging stations and updating online case logs accurately o Work closely with members of the Operations Engineering Systems Reliability team to respond to open case directions and provide data when requested o Report writing, where required, to comply with deliverables in commercial O&M contracts o Respond to customers' concerns with the performance or functionality of their system Requirements o High School Diploma or GED o Minimum 3 years maintenance or electrical experience o Electrical trades experience within troubleshooting power electronics and low voltage controls o Previous experience working with power/hand tools, electrical equipment, isolation meters and multimeters o Experience navigating numerous computer applications and technology independently o Flexibility to work on weekends and/or overtime along with overnight stay to support Tesla's critical mission o Must be able to work at great heights, work in extreme environments, perform prolonged periods of repetitious duties, lift at least 50 pounds frequently o Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and an acceptable and safe driving record Preferred Qualifications o Familiarity with servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting battery storage, Solar, or electric vehicle charging stations o Previous OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) safety and heavy equipment training o Certifications and/or previous training in renewable energy, solar electric design o Understanding of various programming languages and equipment networking Compensation and Benefits BenefitsAlong with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire:
