Summary:
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide technical accounting support to the General Accounting department.
This position is responsible for the preparation of journal entries, monthly variance analysis, monthly and quarterly financial statements and reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts.
As a Senior Accountant, this person should be able to provide guidance to other department staff, including Staff Accountants, Payroll staff and Accounts Payable personnel.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting from recognized college is required.
MBA or CPA is preferred.
a minimum of five years recent experience in all phases of general accounting including preparation and posting of journal entries, account balance reconciliations, financial statement preparation and audit schedule preparation is required.
Familiarity with general ledger, fixed asset and financial reporting software is required.
Experience with McKessen applications is a plus.
Significant experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
Familiarity with pivot tables and Vlookups is preferred.
Experience with consolidations is preferred.
Healthcare experience is preferred.
Supervisory experience is preferred.
