Facilities Maintenance Technician

Fremont, CA Fremont, CA Full-time Full-time $20 - $30 an hour $20 - $30 an hour Under the direction of the Facilities Supervisor, the Facilities Maintenance Technician will use their skills to support the Facilities and manufacturing teams by performing a variety of maintenance work to maintain the building including electrical systems, cooling/heating systems, plumbing, and work with manufacturing operations on hydraulics, pneumatics and machine assembly and maintenance/repair.
Duties/
Responsibilities:
Understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic principals.
Diagnose and repair machinery related to manufacturing including but not limited to robots, fabrication, and assembly machines.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and determine how to correct them by checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs, as necessary.
Work directly with outside vendors to order spare parts and needed supplies.
Diagnose air leaks on equipment, makes repairs to equipment as needed.
Support all building/facility requirements including HVAC, plumbing, electrical and mechanical issues Maintains a neat and organized work area.
Works with assemblers in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and electronics problems on production equipment.
Makes repairs to equipment as needed.
Performs and documents equipment upgrades, equipment replacements, and equipment part replacements.
Performs preventative maintenance on a variety of machines.
Comply with all quality and safety regulations.
Other responsibilities as assigned.

Education and
Experience:
Minimum of High School diploma or GED Technical degree preferred Technical certifications a plus preferred 1 - 3 years maintenance experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment or equivalent training 1 - 3 years' experience with electrical troubleshooting, PLCs and VFDs.
Electrical background preferred Ability to interpret electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic schematics and blueprints Strong knowledge of all electrical voltages and ability to trouble shoot electro-mechanical equipment (24, 110, 240 and 480 V).
Single Phase and 3 Phase A/C and D/C Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, procedures, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and regulations Knowledge of HVAC systems Can work independently on projects or related tasks Competent in small hand tools and basic shop equipment Must be willing and able to work overtime or off-shifts as required Able to take initiative and work independently as needed Must be willing to wear required safety equipment Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift fifteen pounds at times.
Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
