$72,000 - 78,000 Annual Position Summary The Human Resources Generalist (HRG) supports the company's management and employees by executing creative strategies, solutions, and ideas to maintain the company's competitive edge relating to our talent.
The HRG is responsible for providing advice and counsel in various areas, including providing hands on Leave Management support, New Hire processing and on-boarding, providing coaching and employee relations support and assist with the Workers Compensation process.
This role will have the responsibility for various Companywide Human Resources initiatives which may include creating desk-level procedures, fine-tune the Leave process, talent acquisition and retention program management, recognition program initiatives, and other critical programs.
The Human Resources Generalist will perform other functions and support the Human Resources Manager and the VP of Human Resources as assigned.
This role will report to the Human Resources Manager.
Primary Responsibilities Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information; strong ethics and integrity, and performs all duties at an acceptable performance level at all times Oversee all unemployment claims for the company ensuring evidence is provided timely and supportive for claims effectiveness Oversee the leaves of absences process and documents process steps to ensure compliance Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
Maintain internal HRIS system and electronic personnel files to ensure employee records are kept current at all times.
Assist in defining consistent recruiting, interviewing, and hiring processes that support a highly positive candidate experience and recruiter/ hiring manager efficiencies.
Manage multiple projects and priorities in the dynamic work environment we provide.
Ensures legal compliance with all labor regulations for city, state, and federal by implementing applicable policies and procedures and monitoring compliance; conducting investigations; maintaining records; representing the organization at hearings (as needed); provide required supporting documentation Maintains and creates management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
Manage employee recognition programs throughout company.
Manage departments excellent customer service to all internal and external customers including employees, management, and vendors to ensure departments best in class customer service.
Process, track and conduct regular updates on workers' compensation claims.
Process EEO reporting and other legal reporting as required.
Process new hires, rehires, and separations Other duties as assigned by Human Resources Manager and VP of Human Resources.
Qualification Requirements Minimum of 3-5 years of Human Resources Generalist or Senior level HR administrative experience required Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or equivalent work experience (equivalent work experience negates minimum 3
years as HRG) Excellent verbal and written communication Proven excellent working experience using Microsoft Word and Excel Experience working with Microsoft PowerPoint strongly preferable Prior experience working in a retail industry a strong plus Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Knowledge of national/federal and state/city/ province employment laws required Must be able to work in an extremely confidential environment.
Must be able to work independently with little supervision and be able to work quickly with extremely high accuracy.
Excellent attention to detail/accuracy.
Be able to work in a high volume work environment with accuracy and ability to handle stress.
Exceptional interpersonal skills; friendly, tactful, good negotiator, ability to influence others.
Ability to stick to facts and not get into emotional details during situations Clear understanding of the day-to-day business of a busy retail environment.
