remote/field must reside near San Jose, CAHow will you make an impact?The Senior Field Service Engineer for the Materials and Structural Analysis Division (MSD) of Thermo Fisher Scientific is responsible for the success of their teams, building up others, and managing customers. The Field Service Supervisor will lead on-site installations, servicing and repair of complex equipment, investigate operational quality of system equipment; instruct customers in operation and maintenance; serve as company liaison with customers on administrative and technical matters.What will you do?Lead a team of talented engineers by driving actions to closureConducted healthy team meetingsBe an example of Thermo Fishers Scientific 4i valuesLead and conduct on-site installation and follow testing proceduresProvide troubleshooting and repair support for customers and other field service personnelCultivate and develop positive working relationships with customers, system users, and colleaguesTravel, sometimes on short notice, to customer sites domestically and internationally to resolve problems or support other field service personnelEnsure accuracy and timely submission of field service reportsManage TA escalations and ensure issues are escalated earlyProvide feedback to product quality teamsProvide appropriate input in writing updating and correcting various Thermo Fisher system documentationProvide input for various reports including identifying and isolating unique problems with systemsAct as a subject expert and resource for trainingManage customer meetings and expectationsHow will you get here?ExperienceTypically requires approximately 4-7
years hands-on technical experience installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating complex systemsTypically requires a thorough understanding and extensive experience troubleshooting and repairing ultra-high vacuum and high voltage systemsAbility to use O-scope, DVM, and misc. testing equipmentAble to read and interpret schematicsProven ability to troubleshooting complex systems and subsystems down to the modular levelLiterate in Windows software environments and programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and TeamsKnowledge, Skills, AbilitiesAbility to deal effectively with customersExcellent interpersonal communication skillsMust have ability to obtain a valid passport and travel regionally and internationally as requiredMust possess a valid driver's license.Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Requires proof of Covid-19 vaccination.At Thermo Fisher Scientific, each one of our over 75,000 extraordinary minds has a unique story to tell. Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Technical SupportEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
