Sr. Manufacturing Equipment Engineer

What we do:
The Manufacturing Equipment Engineer will be responsible for manufacturing equipment design, different levels of automation implementation, data collection/reduction, and owning all facilities-related tasks for the production and development lines.
The role will be accountable for the equipment design, ensuring it meets production quality/throughput/cost and collaborating with the design teams throughout the conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs to drive alignment with current and future equipment capabilities.
The role will be heavily involved in building prototype energy storage systems and supporting the development and transition of manufacturing technologies.

This position is required to work on-site 5 days a week.

Design equipment to meet design requirementsDevelop new capabilities for prototype and production productsDevelop production floor layout in AutoCADMaintain all facilities requirements, requests, and implementationsCollaborate with NPI engineers to down-select production line equipmentImplement industry 4.
0 solutions on new and existing equipmentMachine components as needed (milling, turning, grinding, water jet, etc)Direct contract manufacturers on outsourced equipmentCreate maintenance plans for customized equipmentDesign, develop, and implement safety equipment for use with high-voltage productsConduct deep dives on equipment failures, quality issues, and optimizationsGenerate business cases for new or optimized capabilities for equipmentResearch and assess new technologies to proposePartner with PMO organization to implement build planUp to 10% of domestic and international travelOther duties as assignedWhat you can contribute:
Bachelor s degree in Engineering or relevant field required; Master s degree preferredMinimum five (5) years of experience in engineering (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)Experience designing and manufacturing tooling and semi/fully automated equipmentExperience developing laser welding processesExperience designing in CAD (Catia preferred)Experience with project managementUnderstanding of writing and performing FATs and SATsKnowledge of DOE, PFMEA, and other industry-standard tools and techniquesProficiency in any commonly used coding language such as Python, C++, or etcKnowledge of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM/DFA) principlesAbility to create testing methods that can be used to evaluate the quality and functionality of products or systemsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProactive delivery of communication and follow-upExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailMust have the ability to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraintsProficiency with Excel VLOOKUP, pivot tables, MS Office SuiteYou may also be able to contribute:

Base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location.
This position is also eligible for a bonus as part of total compensation.
