8 Fremont, CA Fremont, CA Full-time Full-time $50,000 - $80,000 a year $50,000 - $80,000 a year Summary The Product Development and Sourcing Manager, will directly report to the President of ART and Furniture Division and work with the Vice President as a team in executing development, sourcing, production and procurement of product management focus on profitability, product/raw management, price negotiations.
In additional, the Product Development and Sourcing Manager is also responsible for managing Regional/National Accounts and ensures that products are introduced to sales team/retail accounts quickly and accurately in order to maximize sales, profits, and speed to market.
Individual will work and interact with the Design, Sales, Production/Distribution/Operations, Cost Accounting and Visual Merchandise teams.
Essential Responsibilities Set business developing strategy each season, customer.
Do market research regularly, determine initial price base to develop business efficiently.
Work together with sales team to make business grow.
Partner with Design team for product development and make sure new material and technique will be provided for new designs.
Make price quotations and determine the proper margin level for each account.
Update price file, customer quote sheets and sales summary reports for all on-going production.
Understand Customer compliance and specific requirements.
Daily follow up of all PO's on progress, includes packaging, monitor production delivery dates, shipping status, & updating our Sales staff & customers on a weekly basis.
Assist sending and receiving sample packages.
Complete Visual marketing tools on product/sales need (i.
e.
catalog sheets, product presentation, package, displays, sell sheets).
Assist in Showroom set-up and sample maintenance.
Partner with overseas development Team and Production Teams.
Source new product, new materials, new technics from Asian countries.
Communication with vendors for product cost, material, sampling, production lead-time, resolve problems.
First Sample Approval and communication of any modification with suppliers.
Ensure quality control process is followed on all samples.
Assist suppliers and vendors to prepare for factory audits.
Job Experience/Requirements Associate or Bachelor's degree desirable 4-8 years of product development and production control experience required Must be able to speak and read bi-lingual (English and Mandarin) Familiar with furniture industry, Lighting and Home D cor have sourcing knowledge global sourcing Ability to interface cross functionally within the company and those functions in two key liaison roles:
between Design/Sales and between Design/Sourcing.
Ability to interact with other departments in implementing, and successfully executing marketing and product initiatives.
Strong written and verbal communication ability Self-Starter, able to work independently, responsible work attitude and strong problems solving ability Travel 20% travel is expected for this position, travel required when necessary Job Type:
