Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Controller, your primary responsibility will be to manage all aspects of financial operations including construction accounting, general ledger, job costing, fixed assets, accounts payable and receivable, billing, collections, and weekly payroll.
Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported in compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws and regulations.
Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation.
Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
Develop budgets and financial plans for the company based on research and data reports.
Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities.
Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies.
Create systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations.
Report to the CFO with timely and accurate financial information.
Assist the CFO in presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and board members.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the construction industry.
Solid understanding of financial management and accounting, including construction accounting, GAAP, payroll, job costing, fixed assets, accounts payable and receivable, billing, collections, and weekly payroll.
Strong knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and compliance.
Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting, and revenue.
Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations.
Strong ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
Proficiency in using financial software and MS Office.
Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
Strong attention to detail with an ability to translate financial concepts and effectively collaborate with colleagues who do not necessarily have finance backgrounds.
